I KNIT!!!

I cast on 10 stitches, then knit 3 rows! (Still don't know how to finish it off, though.) At long last! Mwahaahaa. Victory is mine!

Huh. This is so odd. EJ found out where he's being stationed today. He thought at first that he'd try and be funny and tell me he got unaccompanied orders to Japan for two years - and I hung up on him. Then he told me where he really got put and ... well ... it's not Michigan. It's in the south. I'm not a southerner; I'm a yankee to the core. =} I've lived the majority of my life in Michigan. Sure, I've visited other places - a lot of places, in fact, but I can't really remember living anywhere other than the mitten. I'll miss showing people where I live using my hand. I'll miss the Michigan accents. I'll miss the snow. I'll miss the seasons. I'll miss making fun of the Canadians. Basically, I'll miss everything but the nanny-like, bloated government run by a former Canadian . Ugh. I hate the heat. Okay, I'm waxing sentimental. Sorry. I'll go reminisce about my home state alone. At least I'm not leaving until May....

Coming hard on the heals of my last post, this one will probably seem disjointed, but what I'm about to write actually occurred exactly one week ago. I eloped. That's right, I've covenanted with God and with EJ to be his wife until death takes one or both of us - and I mean it. =)

A Holy Innocent

Two days ago, one of my closest friends found out her 25-week-old unborn baby had passed away. Yesterday, with her husband beside the bed, she delivered his body and named him Jonathan. When I and a few other people close to them went to visit and conduct a small prayer ceremony, they let us see him. Jonathan looked like a small, wrinkled doll, with his mother's lips and his father's nose, fingers perfectly formed (and incredibly tiny fingernails), and arms thinner than pencils. He was beautiful. They'll go on to have many more children, but we will never forget their firstborn, their little saint, who is now in Heaven, watching over and praying for them.
